Description

NVI, developed by China Media Group (CMG), is an advanced network video transmission interface tailored for professional live media production, supporting both HD and UHD signals. It ensures high-fidelity, low-latency video transmission through innovative updates to the SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) protocol, enabling multicast functionality with re-transmission mechanisms optimized for high-bitrate transmission exceeding 200Mbps. This allows NVI to achieve ultra-low latency for peer-to-peer internet and LAN multicast transmission. The interface builds on the MPEG-TS encapsulation layer, extending it to support various bit-rate streams, Alpha channels, multiple video codecs, intra-frame slice metadata, and simultaneous landscape and portrait screen transmission. It incorporates deep compression formats like H.264, H.265, and AVS series, as well as lightweight formats like XAVC, JPEG-XS, and SUVC. NVI's unique intra-frame slicing technology enables simultaneous encoding, transmission, reception, and decoding, significantly reducing end-to-end latency. NVI also supports mDNS for zero-configuration networking, NTP and PTP for clock synchronization, and features essential for professional production, such as Tally control, PTZ camera control, and Free-D protocol support. By leveraging parallel encoding and transmission, NVI offers a robust, efficient solution for high-fidelity, low-latency video transmission in modern media production environments.
