Description

In the evolving landscape of digital media, enhancing user engagement through interactive "clickable objects" embedded in video and image content is crucial. Traditional methods of storing metadata separately from visual content diminish functionality when media is captured, shared, or printed. We propose using digital watermarking to embed clickable functionality directly within the media, preserving interactivity across all forms of sharing and display. By embedding metadata invisibly, similar to QR-code data, clickable objects remain functional even after multiple generations of copying or capturing. This method uses minimal data—less than 10 bytes—to ensure the original content quality remains intact. Our prototype demonstrates the effectiveness of this approach, allowing interactive elements to persist even in screenshots or printed media. This technology offers significant potential for advertisers and content creators, providing a seamless interaction layer and enhancing viewer engagement across all media formats.
