Name
OpenTrackIO - the open source streaming protocol for camera tracking in Virtual Production and beyond
Date & Time

Description

Camera tracking in Virtual Production is a wild west with multiple proprietary protocols, making it difficult to achieve true interoperability between technologies. This makes Virtual Production systems and stages complex, costly, and time-consuming to integrate. Standardization in this arena is desperately needed and long overdue.

OpenTrackIO is a free and open source protocol designed by the SMPTE RIS OSVP group that seeks to improve interoperability in Virtual Production by standardizing communications of camera tracking, lens encoding, and robotic systems.
