At last year’s SMPTE Media Technology Summit, the Color Management working group within SMPTE’s Rapid Industry Solution for On-Set Virtual Production (RIS OSVP) initiative had just been formed. The group established their goals: to highlight the importance of color management, educate readers on color engineering principles, and offer suggestions of best practices for applying proper color management within an OSVP workflow. Since then, industry experts have been collaborating together to author a series of papers, the first of which focus on LED panel color-managed workflows and the current state of color pipelines for OSVP. These core concepts establish a foundation for more detailed discussions on future topics such as calibration procedures and image-based lighting. In this session, our speakers present a series of lightning talks that dive into these color management principles, giving attendees a first look into the working group’s upcoming publications.
