While still in the early stages of identifying areas for potential standardization, the Study Group has started collaborating with key organizations like Greening of Streaming, ITU-R, and ATSC’s Planning Team 9, which have been actively involved in sustainability initiatives. These partnerships are aimed at gathering insights and use cases in media production and consumption that could benefit from future SMPTE standards.

The session will feature insights from Robin Hérin, co-chair of ATSC’s Planning Team 9, who will present learnings from their 18-month study on sustainability aspects of broadcast and hybrid broadband delivery.
