Justyn T. Davis is an Emmy Award-winning Lighting Designer and Union Gaffer. Since 2017, he has guest lectured and taught at NYU Tisch Graduate School, where his calm and enthusiastic approach to filmmaking has earned him a strong reputation.
He received an Emmy for his role as Lighting Director for the Super Bowl Pregame Show and has served as Director of Photography for Apple TV. Justyn has extensive experience in lighting design, with credits including Nick Offerman: American Ham, Super Bowl LII, and The Food Network’s BBQ Blitz and Brunch @ Bobby’s.
As a Gaffer, his notable credits include The Last O.G., The Central Park Five, Ode to Joy, and many more films and episodic series. His work as Bestboy Electric and Electrician includes major productions such as BlacKkKlansman, The Informer, and Quantico.
In addition to his work in the field, Justyn also teaches at Harvard University, the School of Visual Arts (NYC), and the Maine Media Workshops, sharing his expertise with the next generation of filmmakers.
