Scott Blair is Vice President Product/Project management at Megapixel, a manufacturer of leading edge LED screen processing systems widely used in film and live entertainment. Scott has spent over 30 years in the entertainment technology industry, starting his career working on local theatrical and concert productions before moving into product R&D after receiving an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He has worked on a variety of projects in his career ranging from parkwide lighting control systems design for Walt Disney Imagineering to the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Oscars, and numerous worldwide concert tours and productions over the years. Many of those years were spent developing automated lighting products and systems with hybrid products that ultimately led Scott into video and large display systems for both VER and now Megapixel. The constant through Scott's career has been his involvement in standard's development. He has been involved in the Technical Standards Program in ESTA for almost 25 years chairing multiple lighting communication protocol projects successfully into becoming ANSI standards. The most notable of these is ANSI E1.20 Remote Device Management (RDM) that Scott created the initial prototype for before developing it into an ANSI standard in ESTA. More recently Scott was co-chair leading the ANSI E1.33 (RDMnet) protocol to successful publication.
