Carys is a Principal Engineer in Sky’s Display Engineering team. The team focus on image quality on the Sky Glass TV product - mostly from the perspective of panel/”TV Set” implementation, but with consideration of Sky’s “Glass to Glass” image handling.
Previously, Carys worked for just over 7 years in Content Engineering roles at Sky. During her time within the Emerging Technologies Design team, her work included workflow/solutions design, picture quality evaluation, technical analysis and demonstration and authoring of technical guidelines and delivery specifications.
Carys also worked alongside some awesome colleagues to provide the research, solution evaluation and subject matter expertise required to deliver HDR to Sky’s UK On Demand and Live Sports services. Her primary motivation is to see engaging, immersive content being delivered to ordinary homes in its’ best form.
Carys is a former RISE mentee/mentor and RTS Thames Valley Young Technologist. She is passionate about enabling new talent to pursue fulfilling careers in TV and Cinema engineering, within an environment of healthy technical community. She is an active member of SMPTE UK’s board of managers.
