A native of rural upstate New York, Philip Halprin has been a professional screen and television writer in Los Angeles for over 20 years. He and his writing partner Mark Gibson have written and sold 16 Feature Screenplays to virtually all the major studios. These screenplays have been original pitches, book adaptations, open writing assignments, and true stories, and three have been made into movies: Snowdogs and The Wild for Walt Disney and The In Crowd for Morgan Creek Studios. They have also sold and written 6 original TV pilots for CBS Studios, NBC Universal Studios, ABC Studios, Fox TV Studios, FX Studios, and Universal Cable Productions. Prior to screenwriting, Philip was a Production Manager and in-house Producer/Director at Motown Records in their Music Video Department, and before that he was a freelance video cameraman/tech and art department guy in New York City. He has an MA in Cinema Production from USC film school, a BFA in Film Production from NYU, and studied Photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He teaches screenwriting at the University of La Verne.
