Description

This paper explores the design, deployment, and evaluation of an AI-powered voice control system integrated into a real-time broadcast production workflow. Developed by Ross Video’s Rocket Surgery team, the system was implemented in a high-stakes live broadcast environment—one of the most-watched televised events globally. The workflow combines low-latency Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and a custom intent-mapping engine. This case study demonstrates that AI can not only match but in some respects outperform traditional workflows under live broadcast constraints, pointing toward a significant shift in how production teams can collaborate with machine intelligence on-air.
