Description

As media workflows grow increasingly distributed across on-premise systems, cloud-native infrastructure, and hybrid environments, the need for a standardized, interoperable control architecture has become critical. The SMPTE ST 2138 suite—developed by the RIS-OSA (Rapid Industry Solutions - On-Set Virtual Production Architecture) initiative—introduces Catena, a new open standard and open-source reference implementation for robust, flexible, and secure control of devices and services across disparate platforms. This panel will feature a deep dive into the real-world problems that ST 2138 solves, such as integrating heterogeneous devices in live production environments, managing dynamic cloud resources, and simplifying control integration for both vendors and end users.
