Honorary Membership

Honorary Membership in the Society recognizes individuals who have performed eminent service in the advancement of engineering in motion pictures, television, or in the allied arts and sciences. Such contributions shall represent, substantially, a lifetime's work inasmuch as Honorary Membership shall be the supreme accolade of the Society.

In recognition of her contributions as a producer and entertainment industry leader. Alonso moved to the U.S. to pursue her career in the entertainment industry after growing up in Argentina. She worked in visual effects at Digital Domain, and then spent 18 years at Marvel Studios. In her role as President, Physical and Postproduction, VFX and Animation Production, she oversaw the production of 32 Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including 10 of the top 15 grossing superhero movies. Alonso relentlessly communicates her story vision to artisans and technicians and is a strong and outspoken champion for under-represented groups in the entertainment industry.
