Chao Li was born in Shandong, China, March 1951. He is the President of Central China Display Laboratories, Ltd. (CCDL). Graduated from Wuhan University of Science and Technology in 1976. And in the same year 1976, he completed the design book draft of "Outdoor Giant Video Display". Now Distinguished Professor of Wuhan University of Science and Technology. In 1986, he was awarded as “China National Expert with Outstanding Achievements” by National Committee of Science and Technology of China. In 1988, led by Chao Li, CCDL set up the first color video display system in China. In 1989, set up the display system for the 11th Asian Games, Beijing. In 1998, won the tenders of all LED display systems for Sydney Olympic Games. Started the R&D for big healthy LED 3D display since 1990. In 1997, set up the world’s 1st shutting mode 3D LED display. Then set up the first glasses-free 3D LED system. In 2011, set up the world’s 1st Dual-Channel High Definition (DCHD) polarizing 3D LED system. In the same year set up the basic theory of “LED Cinema” and “LED 3D Cinema” displays. Relevant patent applications were submitted in 2011 and got granted by America Patent & Trademark Office in 2019. In 2013, set up the world’s 1st “LED 3D Cinema Display” system. So far still the only State-ranked Scientist in China’s LED Display Industry. Also, he is the deputy editor in chief of one Chinese university textbook “Optical-Electronic Display Technologies and Applications”, He is a member of SMPTE and ISDCF; 3D Professional Committee of China Society of Image & Graphics (Senior Advisor); China 3D Industry Association (Senior Advisor); Technical Committee of China Radio & TV Association; Technical Group of China Optics & Optoelectronics Manufacturers Association LED Division.
