John has been a Board Member of the Video Service Forum since 2003 and also has chaired the JPEG XS activity Group which published Technical Recommendation TR-07 and TR-08 which address utilization of JPEG XS coding of typical broadcast format contribution media signals for WAN/LAN applications where it is advantageous to utilize IP Encapsulation for visually lossless,
low latency applications. Prior to working on JPEG XS John co-chaired the VSF TR JPEG Media over IP Activity group producing
several technical recommendations and receiving a Technical Emmy for the JPEG2000 work
