Buzz Hays is the Global Market Lead for Entertainment Industry Solutions at Google Cloud, specializing in media and entertainment technology. His expertise spans media production, post-production, archive modernization, and advanced imaging for visual effects, immersive technologies, and high frame rate content. Before Google, he was Head of Product at Lytro, Inc., developing light field imaging systems. Hays is an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences member, serving on the Science and Technology Council. He spearheaded Sony Corporation’s worldwide 3D efforts, producing VFX/3D projects with major artists. His career began at Lucasfilm, leading R&D at the THX Division. He consults on next-gen image/sound technologies, lectures globally, and chairs the Advanced Imaging Society. Hays holds an MFA from USC and completed the Stanford GSB LEAD Program. He is based in Los Angeles.
