Takayuki Yamashita is currently a senior manager at the Engineering Administration Department in NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corp.) He is working on the development and standardization of 4K/8K ultrahigh-definition television systems. His fields include the development of camera systems and high-bandwidth digital signal processing and interfaces. After he joined NHK in 1995, he had been engaged in research of HDTV camera systems from 1999 to 2002. He is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and the Institute of Image Information and Television Engineers of Japan (ITE).
