How to Submit a Manuscript
- Interested authors are invited to submit their draft manuscripts HERE (link to come).
- Instructions on how to write a technical manuscript with resources, such as Style Guide, Guidelines for References, Manuscript Template, and others can be found on the SMPTE website.

The Program Committee will provide guidance and resources throughout this process to help you deliver a successful paper and presentation for SMPTE 2025 MTS. Please remember to keep your OpenWater profile and submission information current, and if you have previously used OpenWater, you may log in with your existing credentials.
Please note that your final two deliverables are:

a manuscript (maximum 5,000 words document (example is available in the text above) and
-
a PowerPoint presentation deck (not to exceed 40 slides).
You will be using your presentation deck to support your talk on the stage, while the manuscript will be available to conference attendees as session support material on the conference platform and in the app.
Abstract Submission: (deadline 31 May):
By 31 May, authors are asked to submit:

Abstract (300–400 words): Clearly indicate originality and provide at least preliminary results of your research.

Timelines for your submission:
- 31 May 2025: Abstract submissions close.
- 1 June – 30 June 2025: The Program Committee reviews all abstracts and notifies authors of decisions. Accepted authors will receive reviewer comments and suggestions for the next phase.
- 3 July – 17 July 2025: Presenters confirm conference attendance and submit additional presentation details. Complete speaker instructions will be sent to accepted authors. In cases of multiple authors, please identify the specific individual who will present. SMPTE allows up to two presenters on stage per paper.
- 31 August 2025: Draft manuscripts and presentation decks are due.
- 30 September 2025: Final manuscripts and presentations are due.
