Peter Brightwell has had a long career at BBC, with extensive project work in research, development and technology departments covering video compression, file-based production, networked delivery and virtual graphics. In the mid-2010s, he played an key role in demonstrating and promoting an interoperable approach for live IP production facilities. This included leading a showcase at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and co-authoring the Joint Task Force on Network Media's Reference Architecture and EBU's Pyramid for Media Nodes. Peter has led many AMWA activities developing the Networked Media Open Specifications, and chairs the Networked Media Incubator for new activities. His recent work has concentrated on how demonstrating how broadcast facilities can benefit from cloud-based technologies and techniques, including leading the EBU's Dynamic Media Facility initative and IBC Connect & Produce Anywhere Accelerator Incubator.
