Honoree Bio
Lakshmanan Gopishankar (Gopi) is a Principal Engineer with the Tek Video Business Unit at Telestream. His current responsibilities include applied R&D in algorithms and software for video test and measurement solutions. Over a 20-year career, first at the Video Business Unit in Tektronix and then at Telestream, he has contributed to the development of several innovative video test and measurement products including the WFM/WVR series of waveform monitors and the PRISM hybrid IP/SDI waveform monitor. His current research interests include developing cutting-edge technologies that enhance HDR/WCG workflows and applying Machine Learning techniques for video monitoring and analysis.
He is the 2018 recipient of the prestigious Innovation award from Tektronix for outstanding technology contributions with significant business impact.
Gopi received his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2001. He is an active member of IEEE and HPA and has been a speaker at multiple industry events.
He holds multiple US and international patents, with several pending patent applications. Granted patents include
