Film Schools are where the next generation of the filmed entertainment industry currently resides. Often, film schools are also where key inflection points of the technological evolution of an industry emerge from. Given these realities and given how Virtual Production has mainstreamed itself as a filmmaking workflow, it is critical that film schools are doing all they can to ensure VP’s proliferation in both the current and next generation of filmmakers. Here we have a glimpse of what RIT, USC-ETC, WWI, UM, and others are doing in the field of virtual production academically & technologically and how they are providing thought leadership in Virtual Production to the industry at large.
