How to Submit a Manuscript

  • Interested companies and individuals are invited to submit their draft manuscripts and other information requested here.
  • Instructions on how to write a technical manuscript with resources, such as Style Guide, Guidelines for References, Manuscript Template, and others can be found on the SMPTE website.

Authors and speakers will be offered assistance as needed throughout the submission process. Our program committee will provide guidance and resources to help you write and present a successful paper for the SMPTE 2024 MTS. 

Please note that your final two expected deliverables are:

  • a manuscript (up to 5,000 words document (example is available in the text above) and 
  • a PowerPoint presentation deck (not to exceed 40 slides).

You will be using your presentation deck to support your talk on the stage, while the manuscript will be available to conference attendees as session support material on the conference platform and in the app.

In the first phase of the submission (deadline 30th May) authors will be asked to submit the following information:

  • An abstract (300 - 400 words), that provides a clear indication of originality, and contains at least preliminary results of your research.
  • Top three learning takeaways for the audience.
  • Type of paper proposed, including, but not limited to the options below:
  • Research/Theory 
  • Novel Technological Approaches
  • Case Study
  • Tutorials
  • Ideal target audience, or who will benefit most from your presentation.

 

Timelines for your submission:

  • 30 May 2024: abstract submission is closed.
  • 1 June – 30 June 2024: all manuscripts are reviewed by the Program Committee, and decisions are sent to authors. Those accepted will receive comments and suggestions from the reviewers that should be addressed in the next phase of manuscript submission.
  • 3 July – 17 July 2024: presenters must confirm their conference attendance and provide initial presentation information. Complete speaker instructions will be sent to accepted authors. Authors must inform the Program Committee by name who will present the paper in cases of multiple authors of a single paper.
  • 31st August 2024: draft manuscripts and presentations are due.
  • 30th September 2024: final manuscripts and presentations are due.
